They're Here!

I picked our girls up from the rendevous point at noon today and whisked them home with me where they seem to be settling in quite nicely. Twelve little lives entrusted to my care.

All appear healthy, although there is one runt in the group (not pictured). I'm calling her Purdy and she's the only one I've officially named, so far.

They've had a long, exhausting day.

How are this morning? What does Willow think?

Augcott: They're still downy and feel incredibly soft and delicate.

Karin: Willow is intrigued, although she hasn't been allowed to meet them yet. They survived their first night with us, so we're off to a great start.

They are adorable! Just twelve short weeks ago, mine looked like this. Now they are fully feathered and living life in the big coop!

Cuuuuute! I thought of you and them yesterday when I passed chickens in a yard near here. I could get attached to yours because you are keeping them to lay eggs. My friend had chicks I would not get near because she raised them to become dinner. No way!

Catherine: They're looking forward to your visit. *grin*

DesertHen: We're amazed at how quickly they're growing and getting their feathers!

Sharon: I feel the same way. This will be their forever home where they will retire in comfort.

Bobby: They name Purdy suits her. She's a spunky little thing.
