It's cooler in the mornings, fog shrouded and quiet. It feels like autumn and yet, I remind myself that it's still early August.
Our furnace comes on at dawn to rid the house of night's chill touch. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting on the air is extra appealing, and the urge to wrap myself in something cozy and curl up on the sofa tempts.
The world feels drowsy with the changing of the seasons. Even the birds' voices seem hushed.
The girls and I are still enjoying our morning stroll, in spite of the dew that covers everything and wets us through. They seem to enjoy the cooler temperatures.
Willow romps through the wild wheat in our pasture with the joy and abandon of a puppy while Luna continues to explore the tall grass, taking pleasure in the fresh country air.
As for me, I delight in watching their antics, while marveling at the visual spectacle that is revealed with the rising light.
Jewel studded spider webs,
delicate dandelions tufted with dewy crystals,
and everywhere evidence of the passage of time, drawing us ever nearer to summer's end.

I'm a Superficial Dabbler - I know a little bit about a lot of things and I'm an expert at none of them. I’m a city girl with a country soul, a curious nature, and a very short attention span. I believe that animals are angels wrapped in fur, come down from heaven to model unconditional love. I'm also profoundly blessed to be married to the man I prayed for and God provided.
I have decided not to display the awards that I receive. If you like my blog, leave me a comment. I read and appreciate them all. It's the connection with the friends I make here that I treasure the most.
