I've been watching with delight and a sense of wonder as my garden has begun to flourish over the last few weeks. Warm, sunny weather coupled with regular watering courtesy of Mother Nature has resulted in a lot of green growth.
I'm fascinated with the pea tendrils, as they stretch and grasp onto whatever is within reach, pulling themselves ever higher.
So delicate in appearance, they are a study in tenacity and strength.
My squash is threatening to take over my garden completely and, all indications point to a bumper crop.
Add to that, I have a corn field! Well, eight healthy stalks that have begun to show evidence of yummy things to come.
My potatoes are the size of small shrubs and awash with pretty pink flowers and if I get as many tomatoes as I have blossoms on the plants, we'll enjoy a rich bounty of those, as well. The carrots, radishes, and beans are all doing well and we may even enjoy a handful of fresh raspberries, soon. I do hope there are enough healthy bees in the area to pollinate all this goodness. All the news reports I've been hearing lately about their struggle for survival has me very concerned. I pray things turn around and quick! I don't want to jinx anything, so I won't mention how successfully our dog Willow has been keeping the deer out of our little garden patch, or how few gophers there are this year. Here's our local deer with her fawn eyeing up our garden and assessing the risk factor of the barking dog outside the frame. As you can see, they have plenty of hay and peas to eat in the farmer's fields, so they don't lack for anything, except perhaps common sense when it comes to crossing the road.

I'm a Superficial Dabbler - I know a little bit about a lot of things and I'm an expert at none of them. I’m a city girl with a country soul, a curious nature, and a very short attention span. I believe that animals are angels wrapped in fur, come down from heaven to model unconditional love. I'm also profoundly blessed to be married to the man I prayed for and God provided.
I have decided not to display the awards that I receive. If you like my blog, leave me a comment. I read and appreciate them all. It's the connection with the friends I make here that I treasure the most.
