Quirky Tip #4 - Funky Fortunes
You need only spend a short time with me to know that I love a well turned phrase and I'm an unabashed collector of quotes.
I also like opening presents and what better way to enjoy both than to combine the two?
Recently, I printed off a few of my favourite lighthearted quotes, tied them with curly ribbon, and tossed them in a bowl.
Later that evening, while we were enjoying the company of guests over dinner, I brought out the bowl, along with dessert.
It was interesting to note how each quote selected fit the personality or current circumstances of the one who selected it. They were like fortune cookies with a twist.
Our guests loved their quotes so much, they each took them home with them.
If you don't have a printer, a handwritten version would serve just as well. I always have more quotes in the bowl than dinner guests, so the last one to choose still feels like he/she has a choice.
You can do what I've done here, or if you have a passion for memorabilia, you could print off photos of things from our collective childhood and have fun identifying them. Tongue twisters, jokes, or trivia questions would work just as well to bring a little something new to the table as your evening winds down - pun intended.
Use your imagination and have fun with it!

fun idea!!!
That sounds like a very cool idea. I also love quotes and a great way to share them.
Gosh, you're clever. And I think I'm going to claim that quote for my very own.
A great idea.
Chieftess: It IS fun and easy, too!
Rain: It's a little something unexpected to bring out with dessert and coffee.
Karin: It's one of my favourites, too!
Jean: Thank you!
I think I am going to do this for myself:)
